They say that “imitation is the best form of flattery”, and I’m inclined to agree. With a pattern based off an existing ‘technical’ tote, this bag is a combination of reclaimed sailcloth making up the main body and PU coated Ripstop acting as a extendable cinch closure topped liner.
It was interesting to work with a reclaimed textile as it meant that it had already lived a functional life, and I think this was the perfect opportunity to show that off, a mix of mud and algae gave a beautiful patina, whilst random folds and creases from storage meant that I didn’t have to worry about keeping the bag pristine and presentable, instead it went straight into my daily rotation.
